The Foil BBQ

Make the most of the heat your bbq is pumping out by throwing these delicious and simple foils on with your meat.

I like to make one 12" or so roll to minimize the foil needed, and reduce interfering with heat ditribution. That's usually enough for three people.

*Potato and Onion Foil*
3 lrg potatos, chopped into 1" cubes
3 lrg onions, also chopped
pat of butter
tsp of water
seasonings to taste

Spread a mixture of potato and onion over near the edge of a 16' length of foil. Carefully fold the edges in; I like to wash and reuse if possible, you can't do that if you scrunch up the ends.

This should be done in about 15 minutes, if you can resist opening the bbq every few minutes to get a whiff of supper. *Substitute* Any hard vegetable for the potato, and you can keep the time the same. If you use a soft veggie, like asperagus, zucchini or fresh beans, the time will be cut roughly in half.

*Fruit Frappe*
1 cup fruit (or fruits) of choice
1 cup ice
sprinkle of lime juice
corn syrop to taste

Run it through a blender until smooth.
Garnish with a slice of citrus, or mint leaves.

The best recipe sites I've discovered so far are Allrecipes.com, and Open Source Food. If you're looking for a "Green" recipe site, I recommend The Sustainable Table. All of these are free to browse around and drool over.
